What the Service Involves

Your stylist begins with a thorough consultation to understand your desired brightness, tone, and coverage needs. The process typically unfolds in these stages:

• Sectioning and application: Hair is divided systematically, with root colour applied at the scalp and highlight foils placed throughout the entire head—front to back, crown to nape—to create even, all-over dimension
• Processing and toning: Both colour and lightener process together (typically 30–60 minutes depending on your starting shade and desired lift), then a toner refines the highlight shade and neutralises any unwanted warmth
• Styling and finish: After rinsing and conditioning, hair is blow-dried to reveal the full brightness, movement, and blend between roots and highlights

Maintenance and Longevity

Full head highlights stay fresh for about 6–8 weeks before regrowth becomes noticeable, while root colour for grey coverage typically needs reapplication every 4–8 weeks depending on your growth rate. Many clients alternate between full sessions and smaller maintenance appointments (root touch-ups or partial highlights) to balance time, cost, and hair condition.

To keep your colour vibrant and hair healthy between visits:

• Use sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner to reduce fading
• Apply deep conditioning masks or leave-in treatments weekly to counteract dryness from lightening
• Minimise high-heat styling and always use a heat protectant spray
• Protect hair from sun and chlorine with UV sprays or hats, especially during Weymouth's sunny summer months

Achieving Your Desired Result

The level of contrast between your root colour and highlights influences both the final look and how visible regrowth will be. Higher contrast creates a more dramatic, defined effect but may require more frequent touch-ups; softer contrast (achieved through techniques like root taps or grey blending with demi-permanent colour) grows out more gracefully and extends time between appointments.
